Ep. #44: Life-Changing Transformations with Dawn, Sharon, and Tammie

Dec 30, 2024

Ladies, I have a very special gift for you all today. For the first time ever on the podcast, I’ve got three beautiful guests on who are actually mentors for BFLY. I’m so excited to introduce you to Dawn, Sharon, and Tammie today, and they’re going to be giving us some insight into their weight loss journeys and tell you what has helped them the most.

These ladies have been exactly where you might be right now, and I know you’re going to find their stories completely relatable. They were on the diet roller coaster for decades, tried every fad diet out there, feeling completely low and hopeless. They joined The Transform Society and started using the tools I teach in there, and I’ve seen their transformation right before my eyes, not just in weight loss, but in the way they carry themselves too.

Join us today as I ask Dawn, Sharon, and Tammie about their weight loss transformation, their favorite tools that have provided them the biggest change, and...

I’m so excited for today’s episode. Whether you’re struggling to stick with your realistic plan, finding the time to look after yourself with work and a busy family life, or even if you don’t even know where to start on your weight loss journey, this episode is for you, my love.

Tune in this week to discover the answers to some of the questions I receive on a regular basis. You’re not alone in this work, and if you are finding yourself stuck, eating off-plan, or lacking motivation, you’re not the only one, and I have the answers for you today.

Ep. #42: Old Diet Rules That Are Slowing Your Weight Loss

Dec 30, 2024

What if all of our diet beliefs and rules were wrong? And what if we could create our own rules based on testing our own bodies? These are the questions I teach my ladies to consider; to challenge every rule and belief that has been taught to us by the diet industry.

Whether it’s not eating at night or eliminating carbs, ladies, you may be surprised to hear that these are just myths when it comes to weight loss. We’ve created a belief that carbs are bad, or that we have to eat breakfast to curb hunger later in the day, and then create rules for ourselves around this that don’t serve us. I rarely eat breakfast and I eat carbs, and so do my ladies in The Transform Society, and we’ve all lost weight.

Join me today as I encourage you to become the scientist of your own body. I urge you to stop taking on rules that the diet industry or society at large has told you are crucial for weight loss, and start asking questions to dig into what you want to believe...

Ep. #41: What If You Were Curious?

Dec 30, 2024

Let me lay out a scenario I see so often with my ladies. You see a number on the scale and you didn’t lose any weight, or maybe you’ve even gained some weight. The beatdown starts, you’re telling yourself you’re a failure, that you’re always going to be overweight, and you stay on the path of overeating.

But what if you could change this cycle? Judgment is never helpful, and it often only makes you want to buffer with food to push down the uncomfortable feelings you’re adding on top of the frustration and disappointment of seeing the number on the scale. Ladies, there is a powerful tool that you can use here to replace judgment with, and it’s curiosity.

Join me today as I show you the power of intentionally getting curious and asking questions that will help you long-term, instead of the judgment and internal beatdowns you might be serving yourself right now. You’ll find that once you shift your mindset, you’ll be able to get...

Ep. #40: Emotional vs Physical Hunger

Dec 30, 2024

We are about 15 weeks in since the eruption of the coronavirus and I know that so many of my ladies in The Transform Society are feeling all the feels, and they’re using food to push down and push away their emotions. Emotional hunger is something you’re probably familiar with if you’ve been on the diet roller coaster, and today, I’ll be explaining how to identify it and what you can do to overcome it.

For most of us, we buffer when we don’t want to feel negative emotions. We use food and alcohol and a whole array of substances to feel temporarily better. Emotional eating happens without intention, and it’s only prolonging whatever negative emotion you might be feeling in that moment, with an extra layer of guilt and shame afterward, and love, you just don’t need that.

Tune in this week as I show you how to identify the difference between emotional hunger and physical hunger, and I’ll be sharing a couple of tricks that I teach in The...

Ep. #39: Self-Care

Dec 30, 2024

This year has felt extremely heavy for many of us, and I know my ladies have been struggling. I’ve had all the emotions, from frustration and confusion to guilt, shame, and anger. While we might wish to start this year over, every painful event gives us an opportunity to look inward, and this is where self-care comes in.

Self-care has become somewhat of a buzzword, and you might immediately think of a massage, a bath, or a manicure and pedicure. But loves, self-care is so much more than external things that bring you just a moment of happiness. It comes from the inside and it’s a practice we have to implement into our daily lives.

Tune in this week to discover what a self-care practice really entails and why it’s so crucial to make one for yourself. We cannot take care of others or create change in the world if we are exhausted and depleted. Not taking care of your mental and physical health leads to overeating and buffering with food, and this stops you from...

Ep. #38: Overeating at Night

Dec 30, 2024

I remember when overeating at night was just routine for me and it was one of the hardest things to stop. After a long day at work, I would immediately start planning what I was going to eat when I got home. I was tired, my defenses were down, and I was just looking to food to give me pleasure and joy at the end of the day.

Overeating at night becomes a habit for many of us, and it happens almost unconsciously. Before you know it, you’ve eaten the ice cream, the chips, and the pizza. Or you’ve done it because you’ve told yourself you’ve been good all day and deserve a treat. But loves, food is a false pleasure. It’s time to come up with a different strategy, and I’m sharing a few with you today that I teach my clients.

Join me this week as I share the top five reasons I believe we overeat and some key strategies that you can try to break the cycle. Creating new habits at night is key, and you just have to start by recognizing that...

Ep. #37: Loving the Process of Losing Weight

Dec 30, 2024

I was recently in the process of shipping out some BFLY swag and brochures to my clients, and it’s a process that I often dread. I think about how it takes too long, and so I don’t want to do it. This reminded me of how my clients have the same thoughts about weight loss when they come to me, and it’s one that keeps them on the diet roller coaster.

Listen in this week as I show you how to love the process of weight loss now, and why learning to love it is what will get you started in transforming your weight. This not only makes you feel better about the journey, but you’ll find that you have more love and curiosity for yourself along the way too.

And here are this week’s transformational questions:

  1. What could you love about the process of losing weight?
  2. Why is it important to love the process?

What You’ll Discover:

  • Why dreading or hating the process of losing weight is like failing before you even start.
  • How to learn to love the process...

Ep. #35: The Number

Dec 30, 2024

Today, we are talking about the number. I spent most of my life obsessing over the number on the scale that I thought would make me good and happy, and I know that so many of my ladies have the same experience. I thought that if I could just weigh 120 pounds, then everything would be good. I could then achieve all my goals and dreams if and when I weighed this number.

One thing that I teach all my ladies to do is to get on the scale and look at the number. We’re terrified of the scale because we think it makes us good or bad, but it actually doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a number. You are good enough and 100% lovable, no matter what the number on the scale says.

Listen in this week as I show you why there is so much power in learning that the number on the scale doesn’t matter and that it doesn’t define you as a person. I’m also sharing what your natural weight means, why this is something I tell my clients to aim for, and how...

Ep. #36: But I Want It

Dec 30, 2024

Do you ever have moments where you’re maybe going out to a restaurant, you’ve planned what you’re going to eat, and then the breadbasket comes out and the urge to eat off-plan is so strong that you find yourself negotiating with your brain? The simple thought, “But I want it,” is one that has kept many of us on the diet roller coaster and it makes us forget what we want long-term and choose what we want at that moment instead.

This is something we do with food over and over again, and it becomes harder to move past the urge to eat something off-plan when we reinforce the behavior by giving our brains the reward of what it wants. We say, “But I want it,” or some version of that, and we give in to our urges, which keeps you in the habit of overeating and indulging.

Join me on the podcast today as I show you how to disrupt the hostage negotiations you have with your own brain in these moments, and how you get to choose to...
